Judging criteria for the Golden Spike Awards

Golden Spike AwardThis week email notifications will be sent to winners of the 2013 Golden Spike Awards. To help entrants understand the judging process, here’s the criteria we use to determine Golden Spike Awards trophy and Award of Merit winners:

First, entries must receive at least 70 points to receive an Award of Merit plaque and 85 points to receive a Golden Spike Awards trophy.

Next, the top score in each category receives a Golden Spike Awards trophy.

Then, the two highest scores after the trophy recipient each receive an Award of Merit plaque.

And finally, the award with the highest score – a campaign over a tactic – receives the Best of Show trophy.

It’s that simple.

If you’re wondering what criteria the judges used to score entries, that information is available for tactics here, and campaigns here.

If you haven’t already, please sign-up to attend the dinner and awards on Nov. 14. Our total count is due to the caterer by Nov. 7, so you’ve got until then to guarantee your spot at the 26th annual Golden Spike Awards event. We hope to see you there.
